A Visit from David Francisco

There’s no doubt about it, forgiveness is a powerful force for change. David was crossing an intersection on his bicycle when he was hit by a car that flew through a red light. David’s spinal cord endured permanent damage. And the driver of the car? Well, she had struggles of her own, as guilt and shame weighed her down. A few months after the accident, she could bear her guilt no longer and sent a long apology to David. But the surprising truth was that David had already forgiven her. In the months that followed, David developed a friendship with the person at fault for his paralysis, and that friendship helped both to heal from that terrible accident. David lived out 2 Corinthians 2, where it says to forgive and comfort, so that the person at fault will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

Not long ago, David and his family stopped by my office for a visit. I loved seeing this young man’s joy for life, free from the shadows of unforgiveness. See it for yourself in David Francisco’s music video, Lionhearted.

Thank you for sharing - enjoyed watching David and his wife on American Idol . . . such an encouraging testimony. Thank you, Joni and the JAF team for providing another platform for him to share about his journey and faith in Christ! --I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Truly as David sings his video shows his courage in pressing forward upward climbing with his heart knowing that his weakness shows up mighty because his strength comes from the Lord.
