Could Family Retreats go ‘Caribbean?’

Meet Luis (a paraplegic in a wheelchair) and his wife, Norma de Villar from the Dominican Republic – they came to Family Retreat this summer with two other families from the DR to experience firsthand the fun and fellowship. Why such an investment of time and travel? We are asking God to use them as ‘seed families’ to help plant a Joni and Friends Family Retreat in their country! And in a nation where special-needs families live on the lowest rung of the socio-economic ladder (most living in extreme  poverty), well… a Family Retreat could be a slice of heaven for scores of weary moms and dads and disabled children, as well as an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. It’ll take a lot of resources, prayer and planning, so please join us in asking God to open the door for us in the DR!
