Finding Joy Amidst Cancer

“How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands… Such people will not be overcome by evil… They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.”

Psalm 112:1, 6-8

Ken and I recently saw my radiologist and learned everything we need to know about radiation. Because my cancer is fast-growing, we have chosen to radiate a larger area beyond the tumor site. After reviewing different therapy options, we decided on 3D conformal radiation. It allows doctors to sculpt the beams to irregular areas that lay close to healthy tissues. Isn’t technology amazing these days!?

During my visit, we started off with a CT scan supervised by Paul and Jason, in the picture above. These guys are about to become very close friends! Starting in the first part of January, they will be delivering the radiation every day for 7 weeks.

We’ve already experienced so many answers to prayer and want to express all the gratitude for your support during this time! We invite you to join us in praying for all the professionals with whom we’ll come in contact during this… adventure, as Ken and I are calling it. We are so content being in the center of God’s will, our praises are constant, and Jesus is supporting us on wings of eagles, as in Isaiah 40. There is no doubt about it – Jesus is very near and dear!
