Goodbye Cliff!

Cliff BarrowsI just learned that my friend Cliff Barrows, music director for all the Billy Graham Crusades, went home to heaven at the age of 93. I met Cliff in 1976 when I was invited by Mr. Graham to speak at his Crusade in Pontiac Stadium, Michigan. It was the beginning of a long and very warm friendship. Every time Cliff and I encountered each other, whether at another Crusade, or in the hallways of a conference, we would stop and sing “Joy for the Journey” together (a beautiful Gospel song he wrote years ago). The Barrows were constant cheerleaders of Joni and Friends, and I always treasured every note of encouragement I received from him – which, incidentally, usually included the words to one of his favorite hymns. Heaven is richer now that Cliff is gathered among the church triumphant… still, Ken and I will miss him much. Take a moment and watch this special video tribute to a most remarkable saint, Cliff Barrows…
