Meet Len: Leading Worship at the Age of 91!

Len Leading WorshipThe worship team at my church is made up of some pretty young people — but not all of them are millennials. Len is the man up front who adds harmony and plays a set of bongos — he is 91 years old and he uses a walker. It is so neat to see him hobble on stage, pushing his walker up to the microphone. And, hey, he does great harmony and keeps a really good beat! My point? You are never, ever too old to serve the Lord. And I’m not talking about just making music! There are many ways in which you, too, can glorify and serve the Lord no matter what your age (or hair color). Isaiah 46:4, “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you.” And Psalm 92 says, “The righteous … will still yield fruit in old age.” So join me for praising God for elderly people like Len and be encouraged!
