Your Prayers Needed for China

Zhang Xu is my quadriplegic friend whose ministry, Bethesda Rehab, is an affiliate of Joni and Friends. Xu and his team are bending over backward to alleviate the plight of many disabled people in his region of China. In his recent newsletter he wrote, “For a long time, I have been puzzled by the questions: Who will take care of those disabled friends once their elderly parents pass away? Each time I saw Liu’s old mother kneel down on the bed, fumbling to change a catheter for her quadriplegic son, I feel totally heartbroken. The mother of nearly seventy years old is the only caregiver of the son with her poor eyesight and deteriorated health.” Zhang Xu poignantly describes the desperate plight of many severely disabled people in less-developed parts of the world. Joni and Friends is proud to be associated with the work of Dr. Zhang Xu – please pray that God will continue to resource his work with more Christian volunteers, funds, and more churches to come alongside his ministry!
