Preparing Hearts to Hear about the Love of Christ

Preparing HeartsYour life of service is an example to others. When you choose to step out in faith and answer the call to serve, incredible things happen and lives are transformed! Meet Mary Kay (left), a physical therapist who answered that call and has served on nine Wheels for the World trips since 1999.

When Mary Kay learned about Wheels for the World from a co-worker, she signed up to serve, and the rest was history. After serving in Poland, Ukraine, Cuba, Haiti, Uganda and Romania, God continues to use Mary Kay to provide practical help and to share the Gospel with children and adults living with disabilities.

Worldwide, people affected by disabilities need to hear about the love and hope of Jesus Christ. The wheelchair provided is the vehicle to help them physically, but true transformation comes when the Gospel is shared and a Bible is given in their language.

So what keeps Mary Kay coming back to serve as a Wheels volunteer?

“God continues to teach me on these trips that he is calling me and you to make an impact in someone’s life by serving, or simply giving them a smile and praying with them,” she tells us. “As a volunteer physical therapist, my ultimate goal is to display the love of Jesus Christ to people affected by disabilities, and I’m able to do this through Wheels for the World.”

“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.”
