Sarah’s Extraordinary Gift

Most children compile a list of gifts they want for their birthday, but not Sarah. When she turned 8, Sarah wanted to donate her hair to little girls with cancer— her gift was a total of 14 1/2 inches of hair! Her gift is especially inspiring when you consider that she has spina bifida. “I didn’t want to just receive gifts,” Sarah told her mother, “I want to give a gift instead of receiving.” This child understands the words of Paul in Acts chapter 20, that “We must help the weak and remember … ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” If you know a boy or girl like Sarah who has a big heart for special-needs children, we’d love to celebrate that child on our Kids’ Corner page.
