Family Retreat Group in Romania

As Ken and I head out to one of our Family Retreats in Texas, the International Family Retreat is just winding up in Romania. The theme for all our retreats this summer is “Press On” – in Romania, the special needs families got visas each day to help them travel to the next adventure; the final day they pressed onto the Land of Joy, leaving behind the Land of Loneliness and Despair. These Romanian disabled people and their families came to the retreat as unbelievers: when the Gospel was shared, one man was at the edge of his seat waiting for the right “answer” about sinful man’s dilemma; another was even recording it! These families also arrived not understanding the word for “respite,” but they certainly got to know it by experience. The retreat closed with worship and an ‘altar call’ for these disabled people and their families to step into a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. Yep, Family Retreats are spreading around the world, and the next stop? Serbia in just a few weeks! Thanks for your prayers and gifts which make outreach like this possible! And pray for us as we pack up and head out tomorrow morning =).
