How’d We Spend Our Weekend?

Well, Saturday morning started off with Francie, my secretary, coming up to our house to help me type radio programs. But it was just too beautiful of a day to spend at the computer! “Hey, let’s go to Sperling’s Nursery,” someone said, and in the next hour, we were wandering through the nursery choosing fall flowers: purple salvia, yellow chrysanthemums, calendulas and white impatiens – just enough to fill in some bare spots in our front yard. Came home, sliced open a bag of soil, turned on the hose, got the hand shovels, and I had a great afternoon ‘vicariously’ enjoying Ken and Francie digging and planting. Oh, the goodness of the Lord Jesus for this lovely season of fall, and how wonderful is His grace that I could sit and watch… without a touch of pity that I couldn’t get down on my knees with them (there’ll be plenty of time for that in heaven). It’s a wonderful thing to experience I Timothy 6:6 for “Godliness with contentment is GREAT gain.” And the bonus? I got a lot of nifty radio program ideas to work on this week!
