“This Is Your House!”

Daniel and Ken in front of the Hope Builders WallRecently our friend, Daniel Stratman, visited the International Disability Center with his parents – 20 years ago, he was just a kid going in for knee surgery; sadly, the operation went awry which resulted in injury to Daniel’s brain. Despite his disability, Daniel has a fantastic attitude – he graduated from Emmaus College and now ‘cheers on’ our Joni and Friends outreach in Arizona. During Daniel’s visit to the IDC, Ken showed him his name on our Hope Wall. I told him, “Daniel, this Center is your house; this is your stake in the ground, and I am so grateful that you are helping us reach so many other people with disabilities for Christ!” First Corinthians 12:22-23 expresses my sentiments about Daniel so well, “Those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor.” We are happy to honor you on our Hope Wall, dear Daniel :-). Friend, the next time you’re in the Los Angeles area, come and tour our International Disability Center (and see the honor roll of names on our Hope Wall)!
